The International Documentary Association is Escape From Death Valley’s non-profit fiscal sponsor.
All tax deductible donations and charitable grants are routed through the IDA on behalf of the project.
Fiscal sponsorship is a formal arrangement in which a 501(c)(3) public charity (such as the IDA) agrees to sponsor a project for the purpose of fundraising through grants and donations. This arrangement allows Escape From Death Valley to seek and solicit grants and tax-deductible donations for the program, with the oversight, support, and endorsement of one of the most long-standing and trusted charities in the field. Founded in 1982, The International Documentary Association has been a leading force in documentary film production for nearly 40 years. Its fiscal sponsorship program has been helping independent documentary projects of all types get funded, finished and seen. The IDA is the largest documentary-specific fiscal sponsor in the world. Last year alone the IDA administered over 7 million dollars in donations and grants to sponsored projects. IDA knows documentary. It’s all they do.
